We were delighted to receive the report from the AA Hotel and Hospitality Services last week and to hear that we have retained our four star silver status in their designation of ‘restaurant with rooms’.
The inspection covers three distinct areas:
- overall quality
- the 5 ‘critical’ areas (cleanliness, hospitality, bedrooms, bathrooms, breakfast)
- minimum provision of services and facilities for guest accommodation (it’s quite a list)
To achieve this the inspector assesses 46 aspects of our inn and scores each of them on a scale of 1 to 5 in order to award us an overall quality rating.
It’s no mean feat to work your way through the criteria (and we wouldn’t want the job of judging it either). We’re particularly pleased that the inspector recognised the on-goings efforts to maintain and refresh our 13 stylish bedrooms and noted the work we’ve done in the courtyard this year to make it a more welcoming and comfortable place to dine or drink al fresco.
