It’s almost always time for tea. Afternoon Tea at The Miller is no different. Mary’s a proud Yorkshire lass and there’s usually a proper brew within reasonable proximity. Throw in the bread making and pastry skills of Nick and his kitchen team, and it would be rude not to treat you to a delectable tower of heaven.
Will you start at the top or the bottom of our bird cage afternoon tea? A selection of crust-free finger sandwiches is made using homemade malted Miller bread. The cheese is locally sourced, the smoked salmon and beef of the finest quality.
We’ll leave you to have the jam or cream first debate while you play eeny, meany, miny, mo over the plain or fruit scones (or just have one of each). And don’t forget to leave room for the sweetest of treats on the top tier. A slice of homemade cake perhaps, a dessert-like mousse or one of our renowned macarons.
Wash it all down with your choice of tea or a pot of coffee. Or celebrate a special occasion – or just the joy of today – with a glass of Roger Constant Lemaire Champagne. There’s nothing bog standard about our house champagne. Sourced from a family cellar near Epernay, we’ve know this fizz a long time and proudly promote it. Champagne afternoon tea by the fireside, under the summer sun, close to the river and in the depths of Oxfordshire countryside. Must be time for tea…
