Yes, you read that right. Mary has accepted a place in the 2020 London Marathon on Sunday 26 April. Accepting a place to raise money for local children’s hospice Daisy’s Dream, she has a lot of running ahead of her, but is over the moon to have a place.
This is Mary’s first London Marathon and more to the point her first ever 26-mile run! Mary wanted to tackle her first marathon to mark her 40th birthday (shhh!), which just happens to coincide with the 40th anniversary of the event itself. Her training efforts are underway – if you see her pounding the streets or plodding along the ridgeway give her a wave!
Here at The Miller we’re proud supporters of Daisy’s Dream having previously raised funds through our Miller party events. Based in Berkshire and providing respite and end of life care for children with life limiting illnesses, the charity supports children their parents and families when they need it most. We salute their work and the bravery of their visitors. Mary’s going to do her best to make you all proud.
Join us in cheering her all the way to the finish line! If you’re going to be in London on the day let us know or keep your eyes peeled. If you’re also running the 2020 London Marathon do let Mary know or let us know on one of our social media channels where we’ll be keeping you posted on her training, fundraising and finish.
You can support her effort and this fabulous cause by guessing her finish time via the sheet in the bar, or via her JustGiving page.
As always, thank you. And if you can’t face 26 miles, perhaps we’ll see you in the bar on the day or for a refuel at some other point!
