We’re very excited to be working with local artisan coffee producer Horsebox Coffee Co. Based in Dorchester, Emily brings years of barista expertise and a committment to making delicious ethical and sustainable speciality coffee accessible in rural communities. All our coffee now uses Horsebox Coffee Co. beans or grind. And don’t forget the sweet treat from the kitchen that accompanies a cuppa too!

Mother’s Day Lunch, Sunday 11 March

Join us for lunch on Mothering Sunday for a mummy-focused family affair. We’ll be serving our Sunday a la carte menu with a set menu pricing approach: 2 courses for £34pp, 3 courses for £39pp. We’re extending lunch service hours on Mother’s Day and closing the restaurant in the evening. While the restaurant will be closed in the evening, the bar will remain open.

Cookery demos

The first of Nick’s cookery demo lunches was a souper success in February and the feedback from our demo guests has been resoundingly positive too. Food & drink matching dinners

We’re mixing things up a bit with our forthcoming food and drink matching dinners. Stepping away from wine tasting and food and wine matching, we’re excited to introduce our guests to two of our favourite suppliers: Twisting Spirits Gin and Roger Constant Lemaire Champagne.

Twisting Spirits is our local craft gin distillery producing fascinating gins all of which are available as a G&T from the bar. They’ve also produced a unique blend just for us, The Miller Twist, that our dining guests may experience in between courses every now and then.

Roger Constant Lemaire Champagne is one of Mary and Nick’s favourite champagnes. They happened upon their small family owned vineyard in Villers-sous-Chatillon many moons ago and fell in love with the bubbles there and then. By chance, once at The Miller, Geri from the UK office popped in one day and the love for RCL was rekindled! So they’re very much looking forward to celebrating their fourth birthday at The Miller with Geri and these bottles of beautiful bubbles.

Tasting nights

Bringing fans of Nick’s food and a loyal local following together for a 5 course tasting supper with wine. First insight into what’s going on in the ideas kitchen and the opportunity to provide feedback on forthcoming menu dishes. All for a bargain price of £30pp + optional wine flight. Next event is Wednesday 2 and Thursday 3 May – just before the long weekend.

Sunday 18 March

We’re treating the staff to a glamorous night at the inaugural Thames Valley Hospitality Awards where we’ve been shortlisted for four, yes four(!), awards. So we’ll be closed in the evening – no bar or restaurant. Thanks for your understanding. We’ll let you know how we get on!

Bank holiday dining extended

Long weekends call for friends, family and good food around the table. We’re extending our evening dining hours on the Sunday of bank holidays to now serve food 5-8pm.

And finally… bus is to us for a discount on food!

Supporting the community is key for us and so we’re pleased to be able to offer a 10% discount off food when travelling by bus. There 3 bus routes being upgraded in March, which is great for our rural village. Just produce your ticket to claim your discount.
